A quick note to let you know that this Saturday evening, I'll be conducting a postshow discussion about The Difficulty of Crossing a Field, presented at Montclair State University's Peak Performance series. It'll be the first of four talks with creators (or assorted experts) about four of the series' offerings. On the Saturday night panel are composer David Lang, librettist Mac Wellman and director Bob McGrath. Right now I'm catching up on the creators' respective CVs and thinking about slavery, disappearance, ghosts and minimalist music. It should prove to be a lively talk. MSU offers a bus to and from Chelsea, for those who want to attend. The head of Peak Performance, Jedediah Wheeler, is running a fantastic program out there in New Jersey. He's presenting American and international productions you wish were coming to BAM.
Welcome to the blog fray, David. It's nice to have you here after meeting you this past February. Cheers.
