Barely time this week to plug my own reviews: A positive write-up of Anne Washburn's cleverly alienating culture-shock play, The Internationalist (this reviewer doesn't need neat messages or soothing patterns to enjoy theater). Also, a disappointed look at Evil Dead: The Musical. I'm a fan of the original Sam Raimi flicks and this lame spoof-homage manages to completely pervert the spirit of the source material. I'm also a Monty Python lover, and hated Spamalot for the same reasons. At both musicals, though, you can bet there are folks greatly enjoying themselves who count themselves diehardier fans than me. Fine. I may be a geek, but I'm a discriminating one!
